Role Overview

As a Junior AML Consultant, you will support the delivery of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) advisory and implementation work for regulated financial institutions, fintechs, payment service providers, and remittance businesses.

You will work closely with the Lead AML Consultant and contribute to real client engagements through drafting, documentation, research, and review support. This role is designed for early-career AML professionals who want practical exposure to consulting work while operating within a structured review and guidance framework. All work is reviewed before client delivery.

Key Responsibilities

AML Documentation & Drafting

  • Draft sections of AML/CFT policies, procedures, manuals, and internal guidelines using provided templates and instructions.

  • Populate KYC/CDD forms, risk assessment tools, compliance logs, and registers.

  • Support document formatting, cross-referencing, and version control to ensure clarity and consistency.

Risk Assessments & Reviews

  • Support AML/CFT risk assessments by collecting information and populating risk matrices and assessment tools.

  • Assist in identifying compliance gaps and documenting findings.

  • Prepare draft remediation trackers and action plans for review.

Transaction Monitoring Support

  • Conduct manual transaction reviews based on defined criteria.

  • Identify red flags and escalate findings appropriately.

  • Assist in preparing investigation summaries and supporting documentation.

Regulatory & Audit Support

  • Gather evidence and documentation for audits, inspections, and independent AML reviews.

  • Conduct preliminary regulatory research as directed

2. Your drafts increasingly require only minor edits over time.
3. You follow instructions and templates accurately and consistently.
4. Your work is organized, clearly documented, and ready for review.
5. You demonstrate steady improvement in both quality and turnaround time.

Who You Are

1. You are detail-oriented and comfortable working with structured guidance.
2. You are eager to learn and receptive to feedback.
3. You take ownership of assigned tasks and follow through on commitments.
4. You communicate clearly and professionally in a remote working environment.
5. You understand the importance of confidentiality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Experience

1. 0–3 years’ experience in AML/CFT, compliance, risk, audit, or related roles.
2. Exposure to KYC/CDD, transaction monitoring, AML documentation, or regulatory reviews is an advantage.
3. Experience in fintech, banking, payments, remittance, or other regulated financial services is a plus.
4. Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CAMS, ICA, ACAMS) — or active progress toward one — will be an added advantage.
